The Amsterdam vision
Explore a developing idea for a floating spiritual and cultural home on Amsterdam’s water. The concept is not a final design or an approved building project.

What is being imagined
The Jagannath Universe concept brings monumental Vedic architecture into a distinctly Dutch setting: open sky, moving water, public quays and a welcoming bridge from city to temple.
The envisioned temple is conceived as a living spiritual home for kirtan, wisdom, darshan, prasadam, festivals, youth programmes and service to the community. These are intentions for the vision, not a confirmed operating programme.
A visible floating platform with a public arrival from the quay.
A spiritual destination intended to invite Amsterdam in.
Space imagined for worship, food outreach, learning and community life.
Envisioned activities
If the project progresses, the vision is to strengthen the Hare Krishna community’s service in Amsterdam and create more room for activities such as these. This is not a published schedule or guarantee of future services.
Preparing and sharing sanctified vegetarian and vegan meals, with community outreach for people facing hardship, loneliness or limited mobility.
Kirtan, bhajans, darshan, bhakti-yoga and accessible opportunities for prayer and reflection.
Talks, courses and workshops on Vedic philosophy, wellbeing, ethics, conscious living and healthy food.
Public celebrations, music, dance, theatre and art intended to bring Amsterdam’s communities together.
Welcoming programmes for children, young people and families, with opportunities to learn, participate and serve.
An inclusive meeting place for visitors and people of different backgrounds, encouraging friendship and compassionate community life.
Project status
The concept pages and images communicate an ambition. They do not establish that a particular site is available, that a design has been adopted, or that an authority has granted approval.
A water-based setting, Vedic architectural inspiration and intended spiritual, cultural and community activities.
The final location, design, technical feasibility, permits, planning, programme and delivery remain subject to future confirmation.
The Amsterdam images are AI-assisted aspirational studies. They are not architectural drawings or proof of land, water, planning or construction rights.

Architecture as inspiration
The visual language draws from the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium: a monumental ribbed blue dome, smaller flanking domes, white colonnades, gold crowns and rhythmic chhatris.
The concept does not claim that the Mayapur project owns, endorses or operates the Amsterdam vision. Any final Amsterdam design would require its own responsible design, engineering and approval process.
